In the summer of 1993, during lunch with a friend at the Coffee Shop in New York
City, I came up with the design for her Crochet Cropped Tank and Thong Bikini.
Billy Martin's Western wear shop on Madison Avenue was the first boutique to buy my
bikinis.. This photo of me wearing my first crochet bikini was taken in December
1993, and a similar shot was recreated in color for Swing magazine
in 1995. |

[Click to Enlarge] Updated for a better look and fit than the original g-string version, the Crochet Thong is more attractive with a comfortable fit. The side braided ties lend a more classic look as well. Matching the Crochet Cropped Tank, the Crochet Thong is knit of cotton/rayon. Cover up with our Hip Wrap and top it off with a fitted t-shirt, turtleneck or even better - our Peasant Blouse.

The Crochet Cropped Tank is truly the most flattering top on most everyone woman. The lacing, crisscross braided straps started the tradition of our braided ties. The Crochet Cropped Tank is still available in the original maze colorway of our favorite cotton/rayon yarn or choose another summer color. Knit of the same yarn, you've gotta get a Shawl to go with! As you can see, it looks awesome worn as a tiny top with jeans.

Remember, this is not real swimwear. Although it is fine to get it wet,
it is not high-performance and it takes a while to dry. |
